  • 8 oz elbow macaroni Cook according to package directions
Cheese Blend
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Use high-quality cheese for better flavor
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Sauce Base
  • 3 tablespoons butter Melted in saucepan
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour To thicken the sauce
  • 2 cups milk Whole milk recommended
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Topping (Optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs For added texture on top

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute until it forms a paste, ensuring no lumps remain.
  2. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until thickened.
  3. Add the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until melted and smooth.
Combining Ingredients and Baking
  1. Mix the cheese sauce with the macaroni. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Pour into a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs if desired.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator. It can be frozen for up to 3 months.
