Ingredients

For the Steak Skewers
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1½-inch cubes Look for sirloin with good marbling for tenderness.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Can use garlic-infused for extra flavor.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Substitute tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika Add smoked paprika for deeper flavor.
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
For the Fries
  • 4 large potatoes, cut into thick fries Soak in cold water for 30 minutes for crispier fries.
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
For the Salad
  • 2 cups green leaf lettuce
  • 2 tomatoes sliced into wedges
  • ½ red onion thinly sliced into rings

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss the steak cubes until they are evenly coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Soak wooden skewers in water for about 20 minutes to prevent burning.
  3. Thread the marinated steak cubes onto the soaked skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
Grilling
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally.
  2. Ensure the steak is nicely browned and let it get a good char without flipping too frequently.
Cooking the Fries
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry the potato slices until golden and crispy.
  2. Be careful not to overcrowd the pot when frying.
Assembly
  1. On a large platter, arrange the grilled steak skewers alongside the crispy fries and fresh salad. Serve immediately.

Notes

For serving, complement with a creamy dipping sauce and a chilled glass of red wine. For a healthier alternative, bake the fries instead of frying.
