Casserole Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed Choose young, firm green beans.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz) For a healthier option, use low-fat.
  • 1/2 cup milk Almond milk can be used for a lighter version.
  • 1 cup French fried onions For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free fried onions.
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the trimmed green beans and blanch for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in the blanched green beans and chopped onion into the soup mixture until well coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle French fried onions on top.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden-brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days. Can be frozen for up to a month. Reheat in the oven at low temperature.
