Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pounds fresh potatoes Russet or Yukon Gold recommended for creaminess
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup milk can substitute with almond milk for dairy-free option
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons parsley optional, for garnish

Method

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into even chunks for uniform cooking.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the chopped potatoes. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until fork-tender.
  3. While the potatoes are boiling, melt the butter in a small pan over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot to allow excess moisture to evaporate.
  5. Pour the garlic butter mixture over the drained potatoes. Add milk, salt, and pepper, then mash until smooth and creamy.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot.
