Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Peel, core, and slice the apples thinly. Toss them with a tablespoon of sugar and cinnamon, then set aside.
Mixing Ingredients
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and milk until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.
- Fold in the apple slices gently into the batter.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. For an extra crispy topping, sprinkle a bit of coarse sugar on top before baking.
