Ingredients

Seafood and Sauce
  • 1 lb mixed seafood (such as shrimp, scallops, and fish) Freshness matters for the best flavor
  • 2 cups heavy cream Adds a rich and velvety texture
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For depth and aroma
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Enhances flavor with a touch of acidity
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
Topping
  • 1 cup grated cheese (like Gruyere or Parmesan) For a gooey topping
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs To create a delightful crunchy topping
  • 1 dash olive oil To mix with breadcrumbs
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Adds a pop of color and freshness

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, combine the minced garlic and a tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the mixed seafood to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until the seafood just begins to turn opaque, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine the heavy cream and lemon juice over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, then gradually add half of the cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Mix the seafood into the creamy sauce, ensuring all the pieces are well coated. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish.
Topping and Baking
  1. In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the remaining cheese and a dash of olive oil. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the seafood mixture in the baking dish.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  3. Once done, remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Use the freshest seafood available. Experiment with different cheese types for the topping. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
