Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened The key to a rich flavor and tender texture.
  • ½ cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness while giving a melt-in-your-mouth quality.
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract For that essential vanilla flavor.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Provides structure to the cookies.
  • ¾ cup chopped nuts Optional, but they add a wonderful crunch; walnuts or pecans are ideal.
  • to taste additional powdered sugar for dusting To finish with a sweet touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour, mixing until just incorporated. Fold in your chopped nuts if desired.
  5. Take small portions of dough and roll them into crescent shapes, placing them on the prepared baking sheet with space between each.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Once out of the oven, allow them to cool briefly and dust with powdered sugar.

Notes

Make sure to use room temperature butter for easy creaming. Don’t overmix the dough; it can lead to tough cookies. Watch baking time closely to prevent overbaking.
