Ingredients
Method
Cooking Rice
- Rinse the white rice under cold water until it runs clear. Combine it with 2 cups of water and 1/2 tsp of salt in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer, cover, and cook for 15–18 minutes until fluffy.
Preparing Fries
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the cut potatoes with vegetable oil and salt, spread on a baking sheet, and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Cooking Beef Stir-Fry
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the beef slices and cook until browned, about 4–5 minutes. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Stir in onions and bell peppers, then add soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, and remaining salt. Cook until vegetables are tender-crisp.
Preparing Salad
- In a large bowl, combine curly lettuce, diced tomatoes, and chopped parsley. Dress with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper, and toss gently to combine.
Assembly
- On a large platter, create a mound of rice, surrounding it with sections of beef stir-fry, fries, and fresh salad. Garnish the rice with parsley.
Notes
This dish pairs well with chilled iced tea or lemonade. For a special touch, serve with spring rolls or crispy egg rolls. Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze leftovers for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or skillet.
