  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the topping

  • 1 cup rolled oats Toast lightly for crunchier texture.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Can substitute with coconut sugar.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Can substitute with coconut oil for vegan version.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
For assembly
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Consider using a lower-sugar option.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Spread the mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and stir until crumbly.
Assembly
  1. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.
  2. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the topping.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes
