Ingredients
Method
Marinate the Chicken
- In a large bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken pieces to this mixture, ensuring they’re well-coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight.
Prepare the Crispy Coating
- Mix the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish.
Bread the Chicken
- Once marinated, remove the chicken from the buttermilk and dip each piece into the flour mixture. Press the coating firmly onto the chicken to create a thick crust.
Fry Until Golden
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully add chicken pieces in batches, frying for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Serve and Enjoy
- Arrange the crispy chicken on a platter lined with fresh lettuce, cucumber slices, and cherry tomatoes. Serve hot for the best experience!
